On October 23rd, the provincial final of 2022 National English Competition for College Students (Fujian Contest Area) was held in Fujian Normal University. A total of 264 contestants from 36 higher institutes across Fujian Province took part in the final test, where contestants were divided into four groups ---- postgraduates, undergraduate students majoring in English, undergraduate students of non-English majors and junior-college students. Three students made their way through the preliminary test in Concord University College into the final and won first prizes in the provincial final. They are Cheng Mindan from Department of Foreign Languages, Chen Lin and Sun Ruoxi from Department of International Business.

National English Competition for College Students (NECCS), held once in a year and including preliminary tests, provincial finals and a national final, is the only one event at national level that tests competitors’ comprehensive English abilities. The competition is an important indicator and incentive for English education in higher institutes.
